I work to the principles of person-centred therapy, which means I believe in your inner capacity for personal growth and healing, even during life's toughest moments.
My goal is to support you in accessing this potential by establishing a therapeutic relationship built on trust and equality. Through active listening and providing a compassionate, non-judgmental space, I aim to empower you to explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely.
I approach our work as a collaboration, recognising that you are the expert on your own life and its complexities. Rather than dictating solutions, I strive to guide and support you on your journey towards meaningful change.
Donna Joined us in 2024 and will be in on a Tuesday Evening in Old Town.
As a passionate person centered trainee counsellor my aim is to provide a safe, non judgmental and welcoming environment for clients to explore their emotional difficulties and to empower clients towards personal growth.
I have 13 years of supporting victims through the criminal justice system, (non counselling role) with a particular focus on those experiencing domestic abuse and sexual abuse of all ages (5yrs to adult).
In line with a person centered way of working, i believe that we all have an innate desire to reach the best we can be and that this can be achieved by understanding and exploring ourselves more. This can be achieved through trust and empathy in the therapeutic relationship, where i stay along side you as you start to explore.
Sarah joined us in 2024 and will be in Old Town on a Thursday.
I am a person-centred trainee counsellor offering a confidential, safe space, for you to share your thoughts and feelings in. Whatever you wish to share during counselling is yours to decide and I aim to be an alert companion, alongside you, while we explore what’s on your mind; at your pace.
I am a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have 3 years’ bereavement support experience.
I have worked as a British Sign Language (BSL) PA, interpreter and tutor, for the past 20 years; and through this work, have gained huge insight into the effects of deafness on adults and children.
I am also a fitness instructor and have a, keen interest, in nutrition and exercise and how a healthy lifestyle can be beneficial to one’s mental health.
I believe that building a trusting relationship with a therapist enables someone to identify what thoughts and feelings are most important to them, at that particular time. I will be guided by you and your needs, and I look forward to hearing about what matters to you, right now, and to help you make sense of it.
Sarah works on Thursdays
We ask for £25 per session to cover overheads towards Sarah's placement with us.
As an administrator, I spearheaded two impactful projects that delved into the heart of the therapy industry. The first adventure took me deep into the Wiltshire region, where I meticulously researched and contacted counsellors listed in a local directory. My mission? To uncover the secrets of industry response times, all meticulously documented in an Excel spreadsheet.
The second project was born from the BACP's SCOPED initiative.
Sensing the discontent among senior accredited therapists, I took action. I reached out to these esteemed professionals, offering them certificates that acknowledged their hard-earned status. I collected and organized their data, ultimately adding them to the Rated Therapies directory, ensuring their expertise received the recognition it deserved.
I am excited to bring my skills to a research project focused on industry secrets. In this role, I will be diving deep into the data, reaching out to professionals across the field, and meticulously recording details that tell a story worth telling. My goal is to gather comprehensive data that can reveal patterns and insights to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of mental health support.
Once the research phase is complete, I will organize and integrate this valuable data into our centralized database, ensuring it's accessible and actionable for our team. I am committed to using my analytical abilities and organizational skills to contribute to meaningful improvements in the mental health sector, ultimately making a difference in the lives of those seeking support.
